Repair Friday is coming again!
Instead of Black Friday, Image Wear stores and the imagewear.fi online store traditionally celebrate Repair Friday, or PaikkausPerjantai. This year, RepairFriday will be in the stores on Thursday, November 23, as the stores are closed on Friday due to inventory. In the online store, the campaign runs from Thursday to Friday, November 23–24. During the campaign, purchasers of IW workwear receive a complimentary Vaatelaastari® Clothing Patch package. With the Vaatelaastari® Clothing Patch, you can easily repair small holes and thus extend the life of the garment.
Repairing and recycling garments is eco-friendly
With Vaatelaastari® Clothing Patch you can easily and quickly repair damaged work clothes and extend their life. By repairing, you extend the product's life cycle and save nature.
In addition to repairing, we also encourage you to recycle work clothes. We offer a variety of reuse and recycling services, which enable workwear to be used until the end.
- With the Aarre recycling service, customer's work clothes are recycled from employee to another.
- Työvaatelainaamo workwear rental service is an ecological and cost-effective way to acquire workwear for varying needs.
- At the end of its textile life, workwear can be recycled into durable and recyclable Cliff composite products through Kierre® service.
- The textile materials of products at the end of their workwear lifecycle can also be used for new textile products.
The most important eco-friendly act is that workwear is made from high-quality, durable materials specifically developed for work clothes. The longer the garment is in its original use, the more we protect the environment.
The Finnish Freshwater Foundation and Image Wear cooperate for clean water
The Finnish Freshwater Foundation is a non-profit organization that works for healthy and clean waters. The foundation promotes the protection and sustainable use of water bodies and participates in their restoration. "Water can be influenced by many - big and small - choices at work and at home, every day. Water responsibility includes, for example, reducing water use, protecting waters from harmful substances, and increasing awareness of one's own actions, whether as a consumer or a cottage owner," says Liisa Hämäläinen, Content Manager of the Finnish Freshwater Foundation.
Production chains in the textile industry are long and use a lot of water. "Since Image Wear, as a small player, has limited opportunities to influence the our suppliers' processes, we support the Finnish Freshwater Foundation's work in improving the condition of water bodies," says Kati Tukiainen, Sustainability Director at Image Wear, and continues: "At the same time, we want to explore how we can improve our own water footprint and highlight the importance of water protection, and that everyone can do their own act of water conservation by using up their clothes."
The recipe for responsible water consumption
The joint recipe for water-responsible consumption by the Finnish Freshwater Foundation and Image Wear consists of the following ingredients:
- Borrow from a friend and to a friend
- Buy well made and only for what you need
- By treating your clothes well, you also treat nature and yourself well
- Use, wash, repair and recycle
- Use biodegradable detergents
- Avoid unnecessary washes - airing often replaces washing
